Description:
Your paddle begins in a festive saltwater marsh area in historic Shem Creek among shrimp boats and restaurants that line the creek. We then journey out to a 22 Acre Island Preserve called Crab Bank across a shallow bay, which is home to thousands of nesting shorebirds including the state threatened species Wilsons Plover and Eastern Brown Pelicans. Frequented by dolphin and sometimes manatee, this is a nice wildlife paddle. This tour also includes incredible views of the historic Charleston Harbor, Castle Pinckney, Ft. Sumter, the Sullivan's Island Lighthouse. The paddle duration is about 6 to 7 miles. This longer tour gives you a better chance to see more dolphins! Tours are led by University Degreed and or Master Naturalist Guides who are also certified ACA guides and/or Instructors.
