Shem Creek History Tour with Shrimp Boil
This 2 - 2.5 hour event combines everything we love about the Lowcountry. We start with a leisurely walking tour that starts at the Shem Creek Park and ends on the dock in front of Vickery's Bar & Grill. We will share the history of Shem Creek from its early use in the 1700's through today & its importance to the Shrimping Industry in Charleston. We will discuss the economic & environmental impact of this picturesque area to our community and give you an up close view of real shrimp boats as they operate along the Creek. We end our tour with a genuine Shrimp Boil, using local shrimp, along with a complimentary beverage. You can even pop the heads off the shrimp if you like. This tour has all the elements we love here - history, the great outdoors, food & drink. Don't miss out on this unique experience.
We are not responsible for anyone who has an allergic reaction to shrimp, please be aware of food allergies before eating any shrimp. The shrimp boats located on Shem Creek are working boats and if they are at the docks, they will be sorting their catch and getting it ready for shipment. Large coolers will be coming and going along the dock so be sure to give them plenty of space to pass, we don't wish to interfere with their livelihood.
Reservations are required because we need to ensure we have enough shrimp for the shrimp boil. Cash Only at the tour site, if you want to pay by credit card, please purchase your tickets online.
TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE UNLESS THE TOUR IS CANCELLED BY PEGASUS CHARTERS. POP UP SHOWERS ARE COMMON DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS AND MOVE THROUGH QUICKLY. WE WILL CONTACT YOU IF WE NEED TO CANCEL.
The Complimentary children ticket is for the tour only. Let me know if you want your child to share in the shrimp & beverage, an additional charge of $10 will apply.
Tickets are available for just the walking tour, no food or drink if you aren't a fan of shrimp.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents are responsible for watching their children while on the docks, not all docks have railings and children can end up in the water if not careful. Do not eat the shrimp boil if you are allergic to shell fish, we are not responsible if you have an allergic reaction.
